Hi Anne! Pleased to (cyberly) meet you as well! I hope to attend the SAA (Society of American Archivists) conference in Austin, TX in August 2009. Maybe we can plan for us Lone Arrangers to meet up there (for those who can attend). L'Shanah Tovah (a little late), Helene
You can browse it and see if it suits your needs. FCLA has created a DigiTool test site for me to get the hang of uploading. In the mean time I have uploaded the images that will be on DigiTool, into Archon. When the DigiTool records are created, I will go back and delete the images in Archon and then create the link to the DigiTool record. This will give you a sense of what Archon is and what it can do. The images in Archon are jpg and a lower dpi. The images in DigiTool will be jp2 and higher dpi. I can send you the link for the DigiTool test site if you like (It is a long URL), however I only have one record so far. A big downside to DigiTool is that it is a commercial application, whereas Archon is free.

I am not a native-born archivist but a convert. I am, in real life, a museum collections manager. It just so happens that most of my museum collection is archival. I am learning as fast as I can, and I have it on good authority that things are not at all bleak in my collection. But I am still regretting that I only did that one class in archiving at the Library school while I was at UT, Austin. Just wasn't thinking ahead.
