Last time I was in Spokane was actually an airport touch & go. It has changed tremendously. Turlock is 40 miles south of Modesto (home of the Gallo Winery, George Lucas grew up there & based his film American Graffeti on the town during the 50s). Both are about 2 hrs from Sacramento (north), or San Francisco (west), or Yosemite (east) and 6-8 hrs from LA.
