Well,
my mother, of all people pointed out that we now have 160 members, which is really quite amazing and excellent!
It's also been about a year and a month since I established this forum to help archivists- librarians- and those who do similar work, or just really like us, maintain contact in our isolated working environments. I fear I've been more absent-minded than not the last many months, and I'm going to try to correct that.…

For those of you not on the Archives and Archivists listserv, there has been quite a bit of discussion about getting SAA to give accreditation to graduate programs. Most job descriptions (depending on the job) will request that an archivist have an ALA Accredited Masters degree in Library Science/Information Studies. At the annual meeting in San Francisco a proposal was put forth to encourage SAA to give their own accreditation to graduate programs. The proposal can be seen here:…

Hi All –
As many of you have heard and know, SAA members may officially join up to two roundtables by indicating their selections on the membership application and/or renewal form(s) or by contacting the SAA staff at servicecenter@archivists.org .

I've just created a Google Group that goes beyond the scope of Lone Arrangers for the Boston-area.
This group is the latest version of "Boston Archivist Group," aka BAG- that existed a few years ago and was so folks could get together in between NEA meetings. Christina Zamon, Paige Roberts, and I were talking about how nice it would be to see the other archivists who are so close, yet we rarely see each other. End the isolation! Let's have lunch on the Common.
Some ideas we were batting around…

mine, but it is, y'know? I'm responsible for this space, for these records. I put the…

There will be a dinner directly following the Lone Arrangers Roundtable meeting on Wednesday, August 27th. The Roundtable meeting runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the conference hotel, the Hilton San Francisco.
This will be a great opportunity for lone arrangers to get together informally, connect and network with other lone arrangers, and enjoy a meal as a collective!
Restaurant location to be announced - suffice to say that it will be close to the conference hotel.
