I've just created a Google Group that goes beyond the scope of Lone Arrangers for the Boston-area.
This group is the latest version of "Boston Archivist Group," aka BAG- that existed a few years ago and was so folks could get together in between NEA meetings. Christina Zamon, Paige Roberts, and I were talking about how nice it would be to see the other archivists who are so close, yet we rarely see each other. End the isolation! Let's have lunch on the Common.
Some ideas we were batting around were:
group lunch followed by a tour of someone's repository
visits to the MFA
drinks or dinner after work
It's only limited by what we can come up with. Participation in activities is entirely optional, of course. Number of events will depend on how much this catches on- it could be every few weeks or every few months- who knows!
